Replacing chrome door handles and mirror

I have replaced my door handles on my 2009 Chevy Malibu. I put Chrome door handles on them in 2009 and they still look great today. All I had to do was clean my current door handles with alcohol, to make sure they were free of dirt. Then I removed the tape cover, located inside the new door handles, exposing the sticky part inside the handle. Then you place them over the door handles currently on your car. Make sure to keep some pressure on the door handle when you first put it on, maybe a few seconds. It was very simple. Hope this helps. Good Luck!!!!

I'm a distributor for gm accessories and there is a tool for this from Kent-Tools, it looks like a small bracket that holds the linkage from the outside of the door, this eliminates removing the door panel.

I FOUND THIS INFO FROM ANOTHER SITE -HOPE IT HELPS:

Mirror caps simply pop off. Use a small screwdriver or knife to start at the top and pop em off. The handles are a lil tricky without the J tool. You pull the lil round cap on the inside of the door jam and use a torx to remove the screw. Then you just pop out the rear section and grabd the handle and pull back and out. To install, you roll the handle in starting at the front. Now for the tricky part. You have to pull the mechanism back and slid the handle in and forward to engage the "fingers" On the latch pull. I used a 90* pick when I installed them at a dealership. It is very tricky, but once you get the hang of it, you can swap all the handles in like 30min. On the rear handles, DO NOT completely remove the torx screws. There is a little square nut in there that will fall and is nearly impossible to get back in place!!! Ask me how I know! Just back them out enough to remove the rear handle section.

that tool is a lifesaver... a tech let be borrow one a few years ago... I was always tempted to buy specialty tools like that for common mods and "Loan them out" on here take a paypal deposit for the value, ship it, refund the deposit when it returned but it seems like more trouble than its worth.....
