Integrated Brake Controller

08 3500HD has the factory integrated brake controller.

 

At intermittent times (with no trailer hooked up) the DIC displayed "Service Trailer Brake System". Usually (but not always) in wet weather.

 

Any place to start looking?

pull codes from the TBCM and have them diagnosed

Can my ODB-II reader see the TBCM codes? Innova 3100, if I remember right.

Probably not. You need an advanced unit that can pull codes from subsystems. If yours can pull airbag and ABS codes, maybe.
