What part of Indy are you from?

West Side, near you it looks like. Rockville & Country Club area

5.3 or 6.2?

Ordered before I found this forum and was uneducated in the ways of the 6.2 so it's a lowly 5.3 It'll hold me over for a while I'm sure ;-)

Finally someone has a pic with those wheels. Pure sexiness right there.

Posted just for you! haha I originally planned on going with the 6-spoke black but they were constrained when i ordered...these were option 2. Now that i've seen them on the truck I don't think they'll be coming off haha

Awesome looking truck, and nothing wrong with the 5.3. Don't let 'em tell you any different. 325 CID, 355 HP with 383 LB-FT Torque on 87 octane, 380 HP with 416 LB-FT Torque on E85, is no slouch. You will thank yourself with the 2 grand you saved on the front end, approximately $10+ dollars ($0.40+ per gallon for premium) on every fill up, approximately 50 more miles range (another $11+) per tank @ 2 MPG better mileage, so $20 more to go the same distance, and last but not least, it will save you from having to ask everybody if they have a 5.3 or 6.2.

Using 20 MPG for the average in a 5.3, I get better in warmer weather, worse in the bitter cold, but average 18-19 In winter, and 21-22 in moderate weather. Cant wait to see what it actually gets during the summer months. I have got as high as 26.5 MPG highway @ 55 MPH.

We will use 2 MPG less in the 6.2 @ 18 MPG (16 MPG winter, 20 MPG summer), as that is just a guess from what I have been hearing. You might want to take off another 2 - 4 MPG for the ones that cannot keep their foot off the firewall. The numbers below will be with both driving conservatively.

In a 5.3L, if you drive 12,000 miles per year, that is 600 gallons of regular unleaded @ 20 MPG average, @ $3.65 / Gallon = $2,190 per year.

In a 6.2L, if you drive 12, 000 miles per year, that is 667 gallons of premium unleaded @ 18 MPG average, @ $4.05 / Gallon = $2,701 per year.

So in a nutshell, Approximately $2,000 on the front end, and $511 dollars annually, that is $2,511 in the first year alone. $4,555 in 5 years, $7,110 over a 10 year period.

Obviously to some, it is worth it. Some may have a heavy 10,000 pound trailer to haul around, some think they have a race truck, and to some bigger is always better. Nothing wrong with a 6.2 either, so don't let me tell you any different.

Sweet ride you have there. ENJOY!
