GMT-900 Factory Suspension Differences

Recommended Posts

After looking at some leveling/aftermarket suspension choices I've noticed that at least on Rancho's site they claim there is a difference. While I understand that Z71 can come with different shocks and even Rancho shocks, I'm trying to understand if there are factory height differences and what they are.

Any insight would be appreciated.

I believe there was the "Z83 Solid Smooth Ride" standard, the "Z**(cant remember numbers) Handling and Trailering suspension" and the "Z71 off road suspension" package. I would imagine ride height would increase respectively with these options.

my 900 has the z60 suspension package... I think it might have been sold has "road performance" or something like that. It is different from standard. Compared to my brother-in-law's 900 with the z71, mine sits 1 inch lower front and rear at factory ride height. Both are 4x4 1500 ccsb. Put a Rough Country 2 inch level on mine and couldn't be happier.

I think there are 4 suspension packages... z60 road performance, z83 standard, z85 trailering, z71 off-road

Thanks this was helpful. Only one company (Rancho) on their "leveling kit" has a special note regarding leveling height. Basically a 2" leveling kit on one truck may be lower than another with a different suspension package.
