Rear speakers very faint sound

So the other day I was waiting on my wife int the truck and decided to check out the settings in the radio,I have the base 4inch non touch screen. I noticed when I used the fader to put the sound to the rear there is little sound as in I can barley hear it even turned up to about 3/4 . It seems to me that if a speaker is there it should work . My window sticker says 6speaker system but I only get sound out of dash and door speakers ,now don't get my wrong the 4 that work sound great but I wounder how much better it would sound if all were working.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I have a regular cab and the speakers in back are very weak . I set most of the sound to come from the front . My truck has 2 speakers in the dash.... 2 in the doors and 2 in the pillar next to seat belts. For a total of 6.

That's where mine are also.

My 2014 Sierra reg. cab is same way I have to fade way to the rear to get any sound

My window sticker says 6speaker system

That does not mean they should produce quality sound. That's extra.

Yeah I also agree the rear speakers suck big time! I am going to do a sub install and I'm wondering if an upgrade on the rear speakers would help any or if the output from the head unit is limited to the rears.

To be fair, I have the bose system and while it sounds pretty good up front, it sounds ridiculously terrible when sitting in the back.

The speaker is next to your ear, how would you hear the other speakers if that one was loud or had a lot of bass? When you adjust the balance and equalizer settings correctly it's a great sounding system depending on the input source.

I see your point...But when you adjust output all the way to the rear it doesn't get loud by any means with 3/4 volume. My 89 SCSB factory radio ROCKED! I figured it's the Gumment trying to restrict how loud our music can be now! LOL

Ur not alone. I also have the Bose and the rear speakers are horrible! I seriously though something was wrong until I read others with the same issue.
