Alinement /tracking question

I have a 2002 2500 HD 2WD entended cab that I use mainly to pull my 5'th wheel. The truck runs well and has had no mods done to it that I know of. My friend was following me the other day and said that it appears that my truck was out of alinement. The truck drives well on the highway and I have normal tire wear so I was surprised by his comment. He said that when following directly behind the truck it appears that the front wheels are wider than the rear wheels. The truck has the same sized tires from and rear however when I looked at the truck myself it does look like the spacing between the rear and front wheels is not the same with the fronts being wider. I tried to get a measurement of the inside to inside distance of the rear tires and compare to the fronts and although this would not be very accurate it seems like the fronts are spaced wider by about 2 inches. This doesn't seem right to me as I always assumed that the front and rear wheels should be spaced the same distance and be in line with each other but perhaps not. As I mentioned the truck drives fine and I think I had the alinement checked a couple of years ago, but I'm not sure. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
