Looking to add them to my truck.

I've got a 14 crew cab Wt 4x4 Just got it 2 weeks ago..It doesn't have steering wheel controls and I miss my old ones and I'll be installing a different head unit and a couple component set and amps this days off and was wondering how the process was on putting the controls in? If anyone has instruction that would be really helpful..

I've found the part numbers for installing the buttons on the steering wheel for like 75 bucks on eBay.

Heres pics of my trucke9ejuvut.jpg

Connecting steering wheels controls is pretty simple nowadays

Does it just consist of just taking off the airbag and connecting it?

Normally, the HU manufacturer will sell a module to connect to the wiring harness behind the head unit.

No I know how to hook up the module. I'm talking about the buttons on the steering wheel. My truck does not have them and I'd like to add them.

Might be tricky if the wiring isn't there going to the wheel. Don't know if your stock head unit is even capable of it. Some research is need on the wiring that you have. May need a new wheel too. Need more info on your current setup.

If you have the WT truck. I don't think you have the harness ready to add just the button..

Not running a stock head unit.

I'm running a pioneer out of my last truck.

I bout the pac install kit that came with the swc for the steering controls. Back to the original question has any one added one? I may just pull the bag and check for my self.

I also have a 06 Silverado LT3 with Bose, steering wheel controls, and onstar. I recently was able to integrate a DDin Pyle PLDNV695 (which, despite the negative reviews, has been an good deck for the cheap price (130$)) with the rest of the stock Bose system. Deck has GPS, Bluetooth, DVD, SD and USB inputs, and more. Everything works fine, minus the few bugs everyone has been complaining about, which can easily be resolved through settings. I was also forced to add a sub due to Bose's crappy low end quality. I did all this without having to buy all the pricey harness adapters.

There are a few issues I have ran into if anyone can help.

1. Does anyone have the wiring diagram or know which wires are used for steering wheel controls?

2. I have read hundreds of forums on this subject and during all my research I have discovered that the stock Bose speakers are 2ohm while the deck pushes 4ohm. I have read the negatives on running them anyway, but it seems to sound way better than the ome deck and haven't received any complications so far (one month in).

Please share some info.

If anyone needs info on my end about bypassing the Bose amp or wiring aftermarket deck without using harness adapters I'd be happy to help.

I have the same truck, I use my tablet as my head unit, connected via Bluetooth to the truck. Then I order this Satechi® Bluetooth Button Series (Media Button) for iPhone 6 Plus/6... http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RM75NL0/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_vpHxvb126JYDC and connect it to the tablet. 3m tape to the spot on the steering wheel where the controls should be and done, steering wheel controls.

steering control schematic

Thanks for the schematic Ravageur1972.

I've been trying to figure out how to add audio controls to my 2014 WT. Do you have a WT? Were you able to add them?

Thanks,

James

yes my truck is a WT but yes if i want i can add it , with some work to do

.you will need a new steering with all control on it . or buy every buttons. module , trims , etc etc to rebuild your steering

then you need to know if you have every harness from clock spring to block fuse and instrument cluster (for communication between modules)

then you need to know someone to reprogram every modules that need to be reprogram.

you may also need a new instrument cluster but not sure for this one. (need to check)

installation isn't hard

i saw some steering on ebay for 200$ about
