4wd question?

I had posted earlier about my truck getting service 4wd messages, and not shifting into 4x4. I took it the dealer a week ago and the adviser called today and said GM advised them to drive the truck in auto 4x4 for 150 miles to set the transfer case clutches, I've never heard of having to do that. Also I've driven the truck in 4x4 at the beach for 3 days, looks like that would have set the clutches. Just wondering if any of you have heard of setting the transfer case clutches? Thanks

I have never heard of this and i have owned many many 4x4's, chevys and fords.

Have them write it up on the service request so you can follow the directions. You might need the document later.
