Camping fever

I was just reading through the new post and noticing all the post about campers. Is it just me or is everyone getting camping fever because I know I am ready to go. This has been a long cold winter!! We bought or camper late in fall and not had a chance to use it yet. I just hope our 6.0 pulls our 8k 28' 5th wheel pretty good. If i knew then what I know now I would have bought the dmax.

I've got the fever.  I usually wait until much later to make my summer camping plans.  This year, I've got every weekend in May and June booked a couple of weekends in July, a week in July and a weekend in August.  I'm NEVER this early!!!

By the way, I'm sure that your truck will tow just fine.  I think mine tows great and my 30' travel trailer is in the 6500 - 7000 neighborhood.

I had the fever so much that we went camping last weekend! Saturday was great but it was nasty Sunday, but at least we were camping.

If you ever get a chance go to the Smokey's.

 We have a 31ft Prowler.

I can't wait either!!!  My camper is set up in a park where I own my site...  but I'm one of a few there that do tow.  I can't wait to sit outside around a campfire again and drink some beer...     This has been a long winter.

Your 6.0 will pull that fifth wheeler with ease. You are gonna luv it.

Come on out to Southern California. We jsut had a really nice campout in the desert last weekend. It's year round camping here. The Desert in the winter and the mountains in the summer.

The all year camping sounds pretty good to me I am getting tired of the white stuff I'm ready for warm and sunny. Southern California is one heck of a drive though especially with two small children. I'm not that brave or is it stupid. I think I will just wait for the weather to warm up here. Shouldn't be to much longer I hope.

Just returned (to Minnesota) after 5-week trip through the Southwest (Texas, New Mexico, Arizona).  Good to be home, but ready to go back down (snow and cold sucks!)

When we bought our truck we got it so that we could pull a nce camper with it.  We figured that we would wait a year then get a camper.  We've had the truck 3 weeks and we were out all day looking at fifth wheels and travel trailers.

I thought that we could last at least 6 months before giving in.  Now I have the bug to get one, just have to decide on a FW or TT.

We liked the Four Winds Lite 30FK-SSL.

Does anyone have a link for a good camping forum?

For "als1984z28"

If you had a Surburban or some other non-truck vehicle, you'd need to buy a TT.  But since you already own a proper pickup, then 5th-wheel is the only way to go.  Easier towing, better selection of units, more RV-for-the-buck.....  it's a no brainer!

Here's a good forum for discussing RV's....
