front seat question

Am I the only one that has found the drivers seat to be uncomfortable?  I am 5'7" and weigh 160 lbs, the truck is a 2002 Z71 with 15000 miles, the prior owner is a bit taller than me, and probably around 185lbs.  So I know the seat isn't wore out.  Here's the problem, the arch in the foam of the seat is too high for me.  It presses too far up on my back.  I opened the bottom of the seat cover and moved the lumbar adj assembly down about 2 inches (I had to find a new way to fasten the bottom of the lumbar plate).  This put the adjusment in the right place (but I don't use it), but the arch in the foam is still there and too high.  I even removed the lumbar adj assembly, but that didn't help either.  I took the bottom cushion off and put a piece of high density foam (1") between the stock foam and the wire spring assembly.  This helped move me up a bit, but that darn arch is still too high.  

 

If you haven't guessed, the arch in the foam on the seat back is too high... :-)

 

Anyone have any serious suggestions?

I should have stated that I don't want to have to reupholster the seat, or alter the outward appearance in any way.

I had the same problem in my '92 s-10 blazer so I had the seat restuffed with new foam and that took the uncomfortable arch feeling away.  The restuffing only cost around 70$ but with only 15000 miles the factory foam should last longer than that.  From my experience only restuffing the foam on the bottom section of the seat will get rid of the arch because as the seat continues to wear the arch will become higher and more uncomfortable.

If I read your post right, you restuffed the lower cushion.  If I added enough stuffing to raise myself up to a comfortable position, the seat would be way too high for anyone else, as well as making it real difficult to get in.  

I think my mods would need to be done to the seat back.  I've thought about adding foam to the lower portion of the seat back to get rid of the arch, and also thought about trying to find a way to "pull" the arch back so that it doesn't protrude as much.  When I looked up the seat from the floor (pretty darn uncomfortable, as I'm not a contortionist) I couldn't see a way to pull back on the wire framework pushing out on the seat.  I've looked for a picture of a bare seat frame, but can't find one.
