MJFlores Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Has anyone updated their front and rear shocks to a better brand such as Bilstein? I have a feeling these Rancho shocks are a big contributing factor to the vibration issues people are seeing and feeling in their 2014's. I looked and Bilstein lists sets for our trucks. My ride quality problem seems to be shocks / rebound issues where they're unable to absorb road shock and rebound quick enough...rough highway its terrible, better roads I get a better ride etc. Very tempting to swap shocks. I'm wondering if anyone has tried this yet and what the results are?
Spurshot Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Some guys have put 5100 series Bilstein shocks for the 07-13 on their 14s with good feedback. I didn't realize there was a listing for the 14 yet.

I'm wondering if anyone has tried this yet and what the results are? I would look at the stock (non-Z71) shocks. I originally thought wanted a Z71 and/or All Terrain, but after my test drives with those packages I changed my mind. The rebound was so much harsher, and I figured I was most likely never going to need that little bit of differance in off-road capabilities that the Z71 and/or All Terrain afforded so I decided to just go with the stock suspension because it just soaks up the bumps better than any car I have ever owned. If your not happy with your off-road suspension feel, I would go to the dealership and test drive a model that is similiarly configured as your truck, but without the Z71 or All-Terrain. If you like it, then I would swap out the shocks for stockers. You might even be able to find someone who is willing to do an even trade.
