2000 Suburban middle seat swap

Hello Everyone,

I'm brand new to the forum, and it appears after looking around that you guys really know your stuff. I could use your help on a seating question/issue I'm having.

I have a 2000 Suburban with the middle bench seat. We just found out we've got another bun in the oven. (our 2nd in as many years) I want to pull out the bench and replace it with 2 captains chairs from the 03-06 years that have the LATCH system (the D-rings in the back of the seat cushion for car seats)

From my research, if I wanted to install a bench from the newer years, that's not a problem. But I can't find any info if I can do the same with the captains chairs. Does anyone know if the captains chairs are possible?

I do not believe it will work due to the holes in the floor

I doubt the holes for the captain's chairs will line up with the bench, but if you're handy you might be able to do a bit of modification to get it to work.

Keep in mind though that if you do change to captains chairs and have to make changes to mounting points, they may not be as strong as they should. It would be horrible if God forbid, you and your family were in a crash and the little ones were hurt because the seat did not stay in place correctly.

My family also had a 2000 burb with a bench and we had three kids, 2 in car seats at the same time, and it wasn't much of a hassle.
