Question
masterchiefZ71
I have owned a 99 Sierra 1500 for a year and a half now and I certainly do love it, but I have recently become interested in saving up a lot of money and swapping my engine for some ls# engine from a camaro/corvette since my 5.3 has seen better days and is at 158,000+ currently and a daily driver. I then realized that since my frame is quite rusty (surface rust for the most part) it would be unwise to do an ls# swap on something that old. So I decided to look for a heavy duty Silverado/Sierra as a project truck for the future when I do get enough money for a full engine swap. I found one that's a 2006 1500 HD from a salvage website and the vehicle has a 6.0 in it and 220,000 miles. It is listed as only having minor dents/scratches as the problems with it and was wondering if this would be a good place to start? Please share any thoughts you have on this.
