 What is the best gasoline in the market? Is it Exxon/Mobile, Shell/Texaco, Chevron, Citgo, Conoco, Bp, Fina, Phillips 66, Amoco or Diamond Shamrock? What would members of GM-Trucks.com recommend?

I first started using shell gas.  Then i heard something about sand showing up in gas tanks (small amounts).  So i switched to mobil.  However if i had the chance to run chevron gas i would do it.  There are no chevron stations in my area (no where close).  I filled up with mobil before leaving on a trip to NC.  I filled up in kentucky with chevron.  My mpg after that fill up was about 16mpg (65-70mph and cruise control).  After my next fillup after driving the same speed and up and down mountains my mpg was almost 20

On the trip home i seen similar results.  18-19 mpg through the mountians.  Got back and i havent seen any mpg above 15 or 16

I do add the chevron techtron stuff before each oil change.

I used to believe Amoco Silver was the Best, but as I have grown, I ve realized that that isn't a whole lot of difference in many brands, personally I just stick with one gas station(one of the cheapest), and try not to fill up on the same day that they do.

Go Shell! Woohoo.  I work for Shell Oil Products haha.  But actually I have been filling up 76 because their 89 octane (which is the middle grade) is always cheaper than everybody elses.  For some reason they only charge 5¢ more for mid-grade than they do regular grade. Most places it is 10-15¢ more.

Conoco Good to go .

That is the only company we use for our gasoline , road diesel and off road diesel needs .

They are also the local mobil lubricant distributor so we get all of our drums of motor oil. hydraulic fluid ,gear oil, ect  from them also .

But I also have a chevron card in case i am out somewhere in the twilight zone and need a couple gallons to get to the next conoco station

Chevron, by far - they're only of the only stations that only buys gas from their own trucks and refineries, so you know you'll get the highest quality gas every time.  Independent stations buy out of season gas and often have water in their tanks, which you end up paying for.  Chevron and Texaco are one company.  They have the best detergents in their gas IMO.

I have been using Clark and Citgo in my fuel injected GM vehicles without any ill effects...been about 5 years and it costs less too...
