First heavy tow

I towed a travel trailer about 100 miles today. It weighs 7500 pounds or so, and the guy who rented it to me said I wouldn't need the bars to equalize / control sway.

Well, I did. It was a fairly unpleasant tow.

Not really dangerous, I guess, but a bit squirelly.

Get weight distribution and sway control when towing a giant box!

Anything would help a lot, but I think a Hensley hitch is probably the best.

Yeah, you generally need a WDH/anti-sway when towing a travel trailer and especially at 7300lbs.

Just got back. It was much better today. Friday was very windy. Thjat giant box does need sway control. Also, I did notice that while the truck looks fairly level with the trailer on, it drives pretty light- nosed. The front tires never skidded or anything, but I could feel some up and down (dolphining?) on rthe rougher roads.

And I-35 was under construction, as it always is, so there were lots of miles of driving without any shoulder and narrowed lanes.
