9006 6000k hid kit install

Hey everyone i am trying to install my kensung 55 watt 9006 6000k hid kit and i have some issues.

 

1. First the relay harness has to go from the battery to the factory plug behind the dust cover, how to i route that and still have the rubber grommet in hole i had to drill?

 

2. The 9006 hid bulbs dont lock perfectly into the factory headlight housing, which tab do i need to trim in order for this to work?

Sierra's use a 9012 bulb. I would also recommend a 35w kit. 55's are just too bright and it's blinding to oncoming traffic.

Sooperdave no one makes a 9012 hid kit.. They all say to use the 9006 bulb

you can use the 9006. Is the relay a single or dual input harness? Check out the first page on the link, it has the picture diagram of the relays. Relay has to go to the capacitor and then to the factory plug, reverse polarity. Like I said check the link, if you have the correct kit, it should be no problem.

how come the 9006 bulb doesnt lock into the headlight socket correctly?

I have a 9006 kit in mine and they lock into the socket. The 3 tabs are different sizes are you sure you have the tabs in the correct spots on the socket?

yes i can get 2 tabs to lock into the correct spots, but 1 tab wont lock in and it sits outside the socket

Call Kensun and tell them the tabs won't fit in the housing, see what they say. They have the best customer service, I know because I have Kensun also. They might have sent you the wrong ones.

You have the bulb in crooked. I don't know if a 9006 is exactly the same tab size and arrangement. Check it against the OEM bulb you took out. Trim as necessary. Make sure you get the tabs of the bulbs under the socket correctly. Use a mirror if you have to.
