Replace radio?

What will I lose or what will stop functioning if I replace my 4.2 screen head unit with a double din aftermarket unit? I would love to improve my sound quality but there are so many menus and functions in the radio that I'm worried about the trucks systems and the smaller screen in the instrument cluster. Any input would be a big help, thanks.

Have you thought about using a line level converter and amp(s) and new speakers and improving the sound that way? That's what I did.

I'm using a line out converter but the sound quality just ant that great, especially with the volume up, seems like a lot of background distortion.

Are you using a good one or some 20 dollar thing?

I don't know the model but it's made by pac, any suggestion on a better one? Do you still get loud chimes and turn signals?

I have the Bose system so my actual method of installation will not apply, but I used an Audio Control HI LO converter and an MB Quart 1100 watt amp.
