Replace climate control bulbs in 2002

Anyone done this? I'm guessing there are a ton of vids on it but didn't see much on youtube.

One of the backlight bulbs went out on my Sierra. Pisses me off. To me... I'd almost think it's a twistlock type bulb with how much light is out now but I'm guessing it is one of those pita solder joints.

Any help is appreciated.

That's great info! Thanks bud. I will look into this. I'm so effing OCD when it comes to the truck and now I'm mega pissed one of the backlights is out. Looks horrible. :(

I had one go out on my 2004, the left side of the climate control panel. I took the unit out and thought I could replace the bulb but could not get the front case cover off without breaking the slide resistors they use for the heat control. The knobs are pressed on and when you try and pull them off, the potentiometer break. They must have a special tool that makes taking the knobs off possible. Anyway, the bulbs are soldered on LED's. I had to buy a new unit, they are not that expensive thank goodness.

Yea you have to cut the sliders off on 03 and up they sell those at lmc very cheap, in the magazine they are near the kit for the bulbs
