Ok guys, I'm sure alot of people here would like to see some actual pictures of a 03 Silverado, and not some of the supposed looks that have been floating around.  Well if you really want some pics this weekend, go to the following thread and take Larry up on his offer (on second page).  Surely somebody from Southern Michigan will be up for this.

Go here!

it looks like an izuzu

UGLY if thats what it looks like screw it no more gm for me

Posted

thank gawd  no more paco  lol

i wanna know what the other avy guys think about it.. because I am in love with it, they should have used that front end on the silvs all along

Posted

Is it me, or does that Silverado front end seem a little off kilter with the rest of the truck?

Anyway, i'll wait to see it in person before i judge...

Once again, Chevy went and redesigned a vehicle trying to outdo itself on the ugly scale.  At least they won't touch the HDs for awhile. ???  That Chevy front end is just butt ugly.

That is one of the most horrible looking front ends I have ever seen on a truck.  The GMC one ok, not that great though, but the Chevy is just butt ass ugly.  It looks like all they did was redesign the front and left the rest of the truck the same.  I guess I will have to hope my truck lasts forever because as long as the silverado looks like that, I will refuse to buy one.  Hopefully they won't screw up the HD's cause at least then there will be a GM option out there worth buying, otherwise I might have to turn elsewhere

Ugh.  oh well.  the chevy is sooooooo ugly....the gmc is a little better but does it have some serious squat to it or what? ....maybe just the angle....

Paco, do you have the number to my nearest F%rd dealer?

Why do they do things like this.  Just leave it alone was all they had to do but NOOOOO!!!!!

Just out of curiosity, how often do you people on this forum ever listen to me?   I asked if anybody was serious about getting some real pictures of a 03 Silverado and you guys take this so called first release from GM and blow it clear out of proportion.  How about we get somebody to get a real picture and then discuss it?  Sounds like a good idea to me....

As for you guys that are gonna go buy another brand based on some supposed photo of the 03 Silverado without seeing an actual one is person, well thats your own loss....

I with Kansas Kid.  How about we all wait a week until we get some pics up from the Chicago Auto show.  Although seeing those pics I better have a barf bag with me when I go. :lookaround:

ok, here is the facts that i've drawn up.

The First media briefing for the new 2003 trucks was LAST WEEK.

I can't see how they could get in a mag already...

Also, those don't look like the type of pictures that would be "offical" pictures to me.....

And, there are more things changed with these trucks than i thought. I'm still finding out exactly what those are...

I also agree with KK, i'll wait to see more pictures...

Hey Mr. Attitude, jumping to premature conclusions and making irrational decisions based on little information are some of my best things.  Now you want to ruin them for me.  Thanks alot.

You know, I notice a certain umm...irritability in your posts lately.  Was it something my daughter said?

    • You're better read than that Atlas. 😏   British science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke formulated three adages that are known as Clarke's three laws, of which the third law – that "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" – is the best known and most widely cited.   Stribeck and the pivotable Hersey Number isn't voodoo nor snake oil. That part is physics. It's what marketing and bean counters do with it that is snake oil and voodoo.    Stribeck is the relationship between Hersey and the Coefficient of Friction. Within the Hersey Equation if viscosity and viscosity is 'Dependent' on.......heat.......and.......viscosity index or the temperature to viscosity slope.    Specifically Hersey is the viscosity AT THE TEMPERATURE IN THAT LOCATION FOR THAT SLOPE.   Hydrodynamic lubrication exist when the film thickness in the location is 3X the Ra roughness of the surface. This is irrespective of the hardness of the substrate. To obtain that thickness X viscosity is required for Y velocity at Z load. That's a lot of moving parts. It is also impossible to maintain in an ICE but nearly possible with a turbine under constant load.    What does that mean? Error heavy and operate light. Wear is inevitable but the rate of wear and the milage obtainable are a function of prevailing conditions and HABITS. The only penalty is viscous drag and at fractions so low as to be well worth the effort. Double the life, half the manufacturing carbon foot print. Greed is the only impediment.    The materials generated by SwRI are the RESULT not an estimation or a hypothesis.    Don't delude yourself sir, EV's have as many pitfalls as ICE's. We just don't know what they are yet and it will take longer to sort as MARKETING and GREEDY CEO's have had more time to polish the turd they are selling.
    • You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.
    • Diesel hit $6.00 here today at the truck stop.   Payed $2.79 for E85 today too.
