Bed X-Tender Install

Has anyone installed a Westin Bed X-Tender (formerly Steelhorse Bed X-Tender) in their truck with a BedRug carpet bedliner?  The instructions indicate to mount the pivot bracket on top of a bedliner.  However, the reference is to a drop in plastic bedliner, not a carpet bedliner.

 

I'm sure there is an easy way to do this.  Just wondered if anyone else has encountered this and what you might have done.

I'd be speculating, but I don't think you'd have any problems.  The BedRug is easy to cut for custom situations.  I have one myself and think there really shouldn't be any difficulty, but then I don't have the extender.

 

If the extender advertisement claims that it can work with a plastic drop-in, I think it would be easier with the BedRug.
