air bag suspension for a softer ride?

Recommended Posts

I understand the purpose of installing rear air bag suspension if towing or hauling heavy loads. I personally use the truck as a light duty, hockey gear toting vehicle but would like to get rid of the harsh leaf spring ride. I've already gone through replacing both rear springs sets from a broken bottom leaf *$#^#%$*.

The question I have is by installing an air bag suspension and inflating it to enough psi to take some load off the springs, would I achieve a softer air ride suspension or would it be a waste of money? I also looked at the solid leaf helpers but since I wouldn't be carrying or towing heavy loads this wouldn't make sense to me.

Thoughts?

Just adding bags will be worse as stated by Rob. Only thing I can think to do would be talk to air ride and put the whole thing on bags. Talking some $$$ I'm sure.
