Transfer case overfilled

While doing round 2 of frame rust repairs on my truck today in the garage, I decided to go over a few more things and get familiar with the truck. I pulled the front PLASTIC skid plate off and checked the front diff fluid. Pulled the rear diff plug and wiped the magnet clean. Saw how the vent and trans/Tcase vent hoses were run etc. Well, I pulled the t-case fill plug and fluid start running out. Mind you I'm on perfectly level ground inside my garage. It was overfilled. Not terribly, but it was overfilled. I'd say maybe 3-4oz? overfilled. I let it drain out until it was level with the bottom of the fill hole. I had a puddle on the garage floor about 10" in diameter to clean up. Trans fluid was checked hot few hours before it was spot on the money. Just a FYI for you 4x4 guys. Yes, I know how to check fluids. Transmission is checked HOT, after the car has been driven a while and I let it sit for 5-10 then go through the gears and let it idle. Tcase was checked 4hrs after I parked the truck. Fluid was room temp.
