Window Tint

I am wanting to tint my front driver side and passenger  side windows on my 2003 GMC Ext cab. Dose anyone know what percent tint GM uses on the back glass and sides of the Extended cab. I want my tint to match or be close to those. Thanks in advance for any info!!

I think it varies from state to state. My Blazer is from California, and it came with 5 percent on the back windows.

 

My 02 ex cab, came with 15 percent on the back windows.

 

Most of the ex cabs that I have seen, have 15 on them.

Check with the local police dept.  They will let you know what the laws are for your state.  You could probably go 5% darker than what they say, and be OK, BUT is it really worth taking a chance and getting stopped if you've had a few    ?

I had my front windows tinted with 20% and they match the back windows perfectly!

lucky bastards.. here in CA, you CAN'T tint your driver or passenger (front) windows.

Only allowed 35% here in NC. I see a lot darker and it seems that they get away with it but then who knows when they had it tinted. We also have a ton of Military here with out of state tags.  It also cost you an extra $10 on top of the normal inspection fee because they have to check the tint and make sure it is legal. So total cost is $19.30 unless your in one of the bigger cities and then you have to have an emissions test done which adds to the price.
