Climate Control Issues

650 miles on the truck and no heat. :shakehead: Took the family out to the movies tonight and on the way home with five adults in the truck we had no heat or defrost. I have the dual climate control and no matter what mode or temperature setting I set it on nothing changed. I have cool air blowing on the floor and from the dash vents.

I tried Auto, Sync, Defrost only, Recirc, tried changing the modes from floor, to vent, to defrost, it doesn't seem to matter.

It was a cold drive home tonight, 35 deg. wasn't to bad except with five adults talking, we had to crack the windows to keep the windshield from fogging up.

Yes, I did have heat on the Temp. Gauge.

I had all kinds of problems with my 05' GMC climate control. I think there is a problem with the my blend door.

My local GMC dealer has a bad reputation when it comes to service. Maybe I'll stop by the Chevy dealer.

Hopped in my truck and went to town, had plenty of heat. What is going on now? Last night I used the remote start with no heat, today I used the old fashion way, with a key, and plenty of heat.

Has anyone had any problems with remote start and dual climate control ?

I had this exact thing happen on demo 2014/2015 with 800km's on it. I thought I was doing something wrong. Only had cold air out vents beside touch screen, feet were froze, as we have snow up here. Got worse when truck went into limp mode, smelt like sulphur and like stuck in V4. Was not a good test drive at all.

I haven't had actual no heat, but i've noticed that my climate controls (dual climate) is completely inconsistent as to temperature. I never use auto.

What i see is that at times, the actual temperature set, say, 70, can feel either freezing cold or way to hot. sometimes i have to set 80+ to get warm air (even after truck warmed up and OAT above freezing, maybe 40's, and other times i can get hot air with a setting of 70. Other times, when temps are warmer, in the 60's/low 70's, i can set 68 with an OAT of 65-68 and it feels cool and comfortable but them later, with same temps set, i have to set the AC on. Other times it almost feels like the AC is on even though i haven't set the AC to be on, but other times, same conditions, i have to actually set the AC on.

Basically, there seems to be no consistency or correlation between what temperature I set the climate controls to and what temperature air actually comes out.

All this is after the trucks coolant temps are up to operating temp.

Get the latest software update. I had occasional anomalies with the climate control, radio, etc. but none since the dealer did the latest update. Takes awhile, they have to download the software that is specific for your vin from GM to a thumb drive, then load it into your truck. Took about 90 minutes, definitely worth it. Good luck with yours. BTW, the latest software just came out a couple months ago, so chances are your truck needs it.

My trucks heat seems to working good now, maybe I need to learn how to use it.

My truck was delivered to the dealership late November. How would I know if I have the latest version software ?

They can pull up your software version right in the service drive, then look in their computer to see what the latest is and if an update is applicable to your truck. Based on the symptoms you are describing and your build date, I suspect you would benefit from an update.
