I had my transmission out recently and I need to confirm the proper amount of fluid to fill it. I replaced all of the lines and the cooler with oem parts. I also drained the transmission with the plug on the bottom and (through a small oops) I drained a crap load out the back of it when I had it out. So now I need to know how much to refill it with.

4 litres max for a pan drop and

 

Put some in it 3 litres say , run it ,

 

Be VERY patient , oil in the tube WILL mess up the level , run it thru gears sitting level and flat.

 

The cold level running is just past the dipstick curl at the end ,

 

What you shoot for after the road test to get some heat say a half hr drive is the full hot line ,

 

Get that and drive 'er

 

Be patient , 80s dipsticks suck
