Auto dimming mirror. Headlights

Bought a 14 GMC Sierra SLE two weeks ago found that it does not have auto dimming mirror interior. Has any one been able to install one or if i found one on Ebay etc where to get power for the dimming signal. Just a side note drove from Seward to Anchorage last night had a heck of a time up in the pass trying to see with the terrible headlights. Got out one time to see if they were on. What was GM thinking?

There is post somewhere on here about this. There are 3 wires missing in the mirror plug to change over to the auto dim mirror. If you just swap the mirror in it will not work. The three wires are a 12 volt hot to activate the dimming sensor in the mirror. The other two are signal wires for the appropriate outside mirror that only auto dims with the signal from the inside mirror.

I'm hoping to swap mine out as well. It shouldn't be too hard to either add a power wire or get a replacement wiring harness to swap it out but it will likely be a little while before I tear into it. It seems ridiculous to me that 2014 truck would NOT have an auto dimming rearview mirror unless you bought an SLT package. My old 2003 Silverado LS had one and my 2014 is so much nicer. Thanks for cheaping out GM.

There should be shops in your area that can help with the auto dimming mirror. If not, i can probably help…i would need your Vin# though so we can see what your truck currently has and then give you an idea of what i can offer.
