Help from parts guy at dealer? 2015

I ordered my cup holders yesterday over the phone from a dealer in MO. I told them my company gets 30% off and they couldnt find us in the system, im in IL. He asked me for a "tax code" whats that? They gave me the 30 without even finding me in the system. Then today at work i ask my boss to order me new carpet with our 30% discount. He said that starting january 1 2015 gm has stopped offering the 30% discount on INTERIOR parts. And i would not get the free shipping or no tax because of this. Idk if my boss is trying to steal from me or what. Please chime in gm service/parts mgr's

Have no idea regarding that policy, but, if you order through your boss, and then pay him, would he not be giving you a copy of the invoice from the dealer or who ever he gets the parts from? Be hard for him to take the discount and not pass it on to you. What your boss is saying sort of sounds plausible to me. The dealer you called to order the parts from could not find your company in the system, that may be simply because whatever special status your company had in place is no longer receiving it, as your boss told you. The parts guy was just being a nice guy.

I know that in Ontario if you want a "dealer" price from most any auto parts or dealer will require you to supply a vendors permit, or GST number plus a form filled out saying that purchases for resale will not have provincial sales tax applied. If you managed to get the guys name you talked to that gave you the discount, I would call and order the carpet from him, making sure he remembers you from the other day. Protect the contact, by not saying anything about him giving the discount, or passing his name on to anyone else.

I think they could not find our shop because we weren't in their system. But yeah my boss gets a discount and is buying my parts and wont pass it on to me. I hope i get an invoice? Is that normally included in the box. Im just confused because he told me we got free shipping no tax and 30% off but he's making me pay everything we use bill jacobs for all our parts. They come a few times a week

I don't think we even have that sort of discount structure in Canada. When you pay for parts that he orders in for you, do you pay him cash, or pay an invoice from your company, or ?

The box that the part arrives in will likely have a packing slip, but, that rarely ever has prices listed on it. I have read a few posts that mention a "supplier" discount, as well as another one that I cannot recall what it was called. Pretty sure that in Canada if you work for one of the outsource companies you get a card that you show to get employee price. Workers from the Oshawa plant show their GM card to get discount at parts counter.

This is the first time i've personally ordered parts from him, but im assuming they'll enter whatever the parts cost on the register and i'll run my debit card through. He ordered the stuff and i didnt even pay for it yet. Do shops normally get free shipping when they use a dealer in particular
