Belt chirp on 2000 5.3 anyone got any ideas?

Some mechanics just don't care where they put their greasy hands - it's possible that when you had the waterpump changed they left coolant and greasy fingerprints all over your new belt.

I'm super picky with stuff like that. If I think I accidentally touched someones belt with black hands, I'll take the whole thing off, and hose it down with acetone while wiping it in a rag. Drives me nuts when my own vehicle does it, so I'd never send any one out with one like that.

On the subject of bearings and pulleys ... if you could see how LITTLE grease is put in bearings these days, you'd be shocked. It's a wonder they even make it to 10k miles! On my own stuff, I normally carefully pry out the little seals on the bearings, and grease them up with my own stuff, even when new. I get much more life out of them that way than normal.

This one here was squawking like hell. A little grease and she was happy. I was a little rough on getting this seal out, but it still worked after I flattened it out.
