LTZ dash has updated version?

I'm getting a little confused. Was price shopping, and If you go through the diagrams in the catalog section of GMPD and look up the PN dash for NNBS black LTZ dash, it comes up as

20959607 . You can add to cart and check out.

 

If you go to the GMPD homepage and enter than PN into the search box, and try to add to cart, it says that part has been replaced by a new part, 23224747 (which costs around $75 more). I went to half a dozen parts sites that will sell you both.

 

O also just checked for a 2013 LTZ dash, which has a different PN from the 2007, and it does then same thing on GMPD homepage, it replaces the , 2013 black dash LTZ, PN 20989630 with the new PN ending 747.

 

Anyone else find that odd? Two parts (seemingly not interchangeable, at least different PNs ) with the same part revision....

 

If nothing else, GM knows there was a problem and updated the part.

 

I'll find out tomorrow when I call my local dealer.

I hope it's to stop the dash cracking, reinforcement, different material, or redesign. I know GM will change part numbers for almost no reason. Even vender change changes part number.
