Is this just pop out? Tips on process?

The middle piece that has the off/door/on just pops off. Open sunglass holder and then grab that piece and pull it down. The the rest is one piece held by 2 screw a by the middle on the sides of it. To take it completely off then you need to undo the harness for the lights.

If you scroll to like 6:50 you will see how I have it off

Hopefully this thread is still active, but can you use the cubby hole already there if the trailer brake isn't there or do you have to get a new trim piece and cut it? Could 3 switches fit in that cubby hole?

I had the cubby and bought the trailer brake panel as it is easier to cut as its flatter. if you are talking full size switches i am doubt you will get a third in there. here is my setup.

You can get three, side to side. And if your 4x4 you can probably so 3 up and down and buy the switch covers from Otrattw.net and get them in horizontal. 4719076d320255eeb3b4bdf0166440aa.jpg

Does anyone know the hole size for the 4x4 switch? I have a 2wd and am interested in putting in an air gauge for the helper bags. Thanks in advance.

Is as big as th headlight switch.

I actually have a 4x4 bezel in my garage with the cubby pocket in it, if you need photos or measurements or anything. (or if you want it..)

I'm glad to see this is still active. I'm finally back in a truck (long story, wont go into it) but its a 2wd this time around.

I would definitely recommend the trailer brake bezel over the cubby pocket bezel if you are dremeling it out. its flatter and way easier to work with. I'm not at all what you'd call skilled and for mine to turn out like it did really shows how easy this is.

Out of curiosity, how are you other folks routing your wires and finding your power?

For me, I went through the battery terminal and ran a wire across the firewall in a wire loom and zip tied it to the existing loom, then used a relay in the battery tray to power things, I got my RAP from the RAP accessory option under the floorboard. It worked great but.. it was a huge pain to get to under the dash

Hrmm, the console idea is intriguing. I could see far more than 2 small ones there, if you could do something with the cig lighter, you could have ~4 switches between the usb ports and the power inverter.

The OHC I would avoid because of the wiring work that requires, but it is a great place for access

Hey man congrats on getting back in a truck? Is it the same one that is in your profile pic? I'm in Rome daily, I'm guessing we have probably passed each other on the road.

Chad, any suggestions or guidance on pulling the remote button trim plate? That's where I will be placing my switches as well.

I'm bringing power in from an aux power block I put in the engine bay. Power and control wires are routed through the under structure of the left front quarter panel. If you look at the driver's door frame in between the hinges there is a grommet that wire can be routed through and then into the cab. I'm planning on using some woven wire loom to camouflage the wires. Seems like it is easier and less painful than going through the firewall...
