Livernois Tunes?

5.3L also? I just have a hard time seeing the 5.3L putting out 327hp at the wheel stock.

I've seen close to that whp on E-85 dyno's......What I have a hard time seeing is the tq numbers. But yes, they are 'suppposed' to be from a 5.3L.

There is little doubt that they can tune, on my part and IMO...I'm just so skeptical since the EcoBoost tunes from them are "finicky". Some trucks love em' and some are not as pleased.

I am leaning slowly to tune this thing quicker than I planned. But based off of those numbers I might let Unleashed have a run at it (the tunes always datalog and drive well, low knock counts, and a margin for some bad winter fuel).

I'll work on getting the Livernois dyno up, for the OP and you guys.

I have plans to go blackbear. But would like to see dyno gains for BB on the new truck. I want to hit 400hp at the crank or more. A friend of mine who thinks he knows everything about vehicles says I should just pay 300$ and let his friend due. But I've seen nothing but great feedback for blackbear and Lew at Diablo for custom tunes. And in my opinion and previous experience if something goes wrong I don't see how my friends friend can help me fix it.

That will probably only happen on E85. It is attainable on E85 but not on normal gas

I was thinking headers, CAI, and exhaust would help as well. The tune plus bolt-ons i figured i'd be almost putting out 400hp the crank even on pure gasoline. I'm unfamiliar with E85, never even seen it before down here. But i'm new to vehicles so the octane, E85, all that jazz is new too.

Might be possible with that, but CAI and Exhaust wont do much. Headers may be good for about 20. Aggressive tuning may be needed but then drivability will be bad. I had 325 HP to the wheels on an engine that put 345 to the crank stock. Part dyno fluff and part aggressive tune. Truck wouldnt drive for shit though.

I certainly don't want to ruin the drive ability of the truck. 280-300 at the Wheels is more than enough for me honestly. I really want headers for the sound but it's nice to make some power as well. How was it horrible to drive? I don't want an aggressive tune, just want the trucks delayed throttle response, and gear hunting to stop.

It was snappy at WOT, but shifted extremely hard and part throttle acceleration was awful. It was tuned for the strip and dyno pulls not for daily driving and towing 10,000 lbs of toy hauler

I think headers would be lucky to gain 10 hp. Stock manifolds on my TBSS flowed 400 hp, easily spinning a 6.0 to 6500 rpm. I doubt these trucks have manifolds unegineered to only flow 355 hp. Headers on a stock TBSS rairly gained 10 hp. Now if you planned on doing heads and a cam, then headers would help more. But for a stock engine, headers are alot of money just for mostly sound.

Bringing this back to life....

I recently got in touch with a previous tuner from my previous EcoBoost. He definitely made the most powerful tune on that truck.

I'm going to be using the SCT X4, mainly because I'm so familiar with data logging for it. I doubt I'll get dyno numbers as money is pretty tight. But I can get GPS based 0-60 and 1/4 mile times that have pretty solid for me in the past.

Estimated time will be ~ month.... Let's see what he can do!!!
