In addition to the above customer concerns, the following updates have been included in this software update:

  • Correction to Spanish speech input for destination entry that numbers are included in the search input for the address.
  • Pandora favorite saved items — If two phones were paired, the channel list of the 1st phone was not cleared when the 2nd phone was paired.

4033005.giftif.gifMake sure the latest Techline Infotainment DVD software update (V-IN2014-14-15 DVD) has been installed. Refer to the latest version of PI0744 Instructions for Installing Techline Infotainment DVD in SI.

Before updating software, check the HMI build version. The HMI build version label should be GMG2.12.6N146.4 or earlier.

Caution: If the software version is GMG2.12.6N146.4 or lower, proceed with this PI. If the version is higher, damage to the HMI module may occur. DO NOT PROCEED WITH THIS PI if the version is higher.

Note: The last 3.1 numbers as shown above will increase as the software gets updated. Those are the numbers to check when verifying software version.

To verify the HMI build version, on the radio push the following button combination together (refer to chart below), then select HMI from the onboard development screen.

An updated software calibration has been released to address the above conditions. Update the HMI Module using a USB FLASH DRIVE and the Service Programming System (SPS) with the files available on TIS2WEB. Refer to the SPS procedures in SI.

Important: This procedure is a USB flash drive programming event. This IS NOT a standard TIS2WEB programming event. This procedure requires a USB 2.0 flash drive. The minimum USB flash drive capacity requirement is 4 GB. Use Tis2Web to download the correct version of the software for the vehicle that is being programmed to minimize the chance of flashing the wrong software into HMI module.

Any existing data on the USB flash drive will be erased during the TIS2WEB-to-USB flash drive download process. To ensure important data IS NOT deleted from the USB flash drive, transfer the data from the USB flash drive onto another approved data storage device BEFORE attempting to download software from TIS2WEB.Once the software is downloaded to the USB, DO NOT add any data to the storage device.

After USB programming has been completed, reprogram the HMI module, this time using the Service Programming System (SPS) with the latest calibrations available on TIS2WEB. Refer to the SPS procedures in SI.

Clear any DTCs.

Important: The vehicle modules MUST go to sleep for 5 minutes after programming the HMI module. If not, the vehicle may not have sound, blank screen, no touch response or the wrong splash screen may appear on the screen. If this happens, shut off vehicle and wait the required 5 minutes before starting vehicle again.

Important: For RPO IO5, there was a production change in the software to change the Navigation icon (NAV) display to NAV OnStar icon display

Started up the 2014 GMC Sierra 3400 miles today and put it in drive and got a Warning Service Rear View Camera On the infotainment screen. It stay up for about 8 sec ans went away. Iam sure someone has had this just can't find it.

Thanks

This has happened to me a few times with my 2015 Sierra 1500 SLT. I park reversed into my driveway and sometimes in the morning as I pass R when switching to D it will stay on the screen you describe for a few seconds. I think it's just lag in the system.

I park in reverse every time in my garage must be the cause. When I shifted pass reverse to drive is when it happen and showed a black camera screen with the parking lines on it for about 8 sec. Thanks for the heads up.

    • Your right on. 👍🏻
    • Seats matter a lot.  I would start there - good advise here.  I had a 2018 LT Colorado before my 2026 LT Silverado, and the seats are so much better in the new one it's not even a contest.  That was one thing I always hated about the Colorado and I owned two of them spanning 10 years - but I did it so I could park in the garage mainly.  Now I have a much larger property and a huge barn so I have plenty of parking options and a full size is more useful for maintaining the property and current hobbies as well.  I wasn't evenb thinking about the seats as part of the reason for the move to the Silverado, but after two back to back 700mile road trips I am sold on the LT seats w/ leather 100%.  The other LT features are also nice - one thing I really like is the power rear window on the back window by the bed.  And the lighting in the bed is also very nice to have - I doubt that comes on the lower models.  Power tailgate - also quite useful - it's a heavy slug!  What else - I could take or leave the screen - but heated seats and steering wheel and cruise control on the steering wheel is very useable - I would never want to live without that.  Even the colorados had that.
    • I think the ship has sailed on the fuel injection type - everything is getting direct now.  Does it help with mpg?  Not really and nobody buying a HD truck really cares anyway.  But that is what it is at this point.  Piston rings is something they may well adjust over time to get them right.
    • I don’t have detailed measurement data, but this past March we were hiking and camping in Death Valley and the Las Vegas area when this Spring’s heat wave hit with 105 plus temperatures and our 2021 L8T system kept our crew cab as cool as we wanted it (68F setting) with no trouble. Fan flows on auto once stabilized were fairly low. It seems like the OP’s system should be performing better.
    • Yes that's correct on the route to Durango - we just followed what google maps recommended.  That is quite the pass btw - very steep going back down.  I didn't even need manual mode - I just used cruise control and set the truck at 50 I think when it was a 45 posted speed and for the most part it just held it there by keeping it in the right gear - everyonce in awhile there is a sharper turn that I just braked for - but it was pretty smooth going down it on both sides.  Amazing views around there for sure - we had no real time to stop, were on the clock for a set-up time, but we did stop in some 2 horse town somewhere a couple hours oustide of Durango in the middle of nowhere for burgers.   And yes - lots up up and downs on the Durango trip but I think it's a big difference going 70 vs. going 80-83 with the aero in play with these big trucks.  Even the much smaller Colorado does reallt bad on gas going up over 70, I think I would have been lucky to get 18 on that trip in the Colorado honestly.  The full size is definately more comfy for a long road trip too, and the amount of gear we had would have meant two vehicles if I still had the Colorado.
