chevy0310 Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Need some help from Silverado guys. I am working on swapping interiors on 2005 1/2 ton 2wd 4 door trucks. I'm swapping everything harness dash every last interior piece. The truck I'm getting the parts off of has a few more options than the truck the parts are going on. The only things I can tell is the truck I'm getting the parts from has a center console,Bose system, onstar, and xm. What would not work if I left the onstar and xm antenna off? It has the 2 separate antennas. Will my original bcm from the truck without the options still work with the extra options? Also there is a module under the drivers seat. What is it and will I need change it with the added options also? Thank u for all ur help. I'm almost done with this truck and really need the info asap if at all possible. Also I don't plan on subscribing to xm or onstar. Will all the other functions of the factory radio work? Also there is what appears to be a Mic on the overhead console. Is that just for the onstar or also hands free phone? Also would the antennas be useless if I upgraded toa aftermarket head unit later on?
gmtech4 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 BCM needs to be reprogrammed if not replaced ,,,,,box under dvrs seat is the SRS module (air bag), note the flashy yellow connectors Other questions are silly at best and you'll figure it out if this crazy idea actually works , Good luck
Chris Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 A couple of hours in a dealer waiting room of they know what they are doing. You need to let them know what you added
