95 GMC 1500 Tranny Trouble-please help

good morning

 

ok this is what it was doing...occassionaly the speedo and tach would not work and the check engine light would be on but all other gauges worked fine...the truck would not shift and would stay in one of the taller gears 2nd or 3rd not sure then there would be times when all would work with no problems...so finally the speedo and tach stopped working at all and while driving it just stop moving forward as if it was no longer in gear...and now there is a clicking sound that seems like its coming from the tranny..

 

so i towed it home, pulled the tranny pan and changed the shift solenoids (A & B) then put it back together and still it would not go in gear...i can move the shift lever from p to nd321 but will only slowly inch forward sometimes in d...so i decided to change the ignition switch and it still will not move forward but the tach and i guess the speedo as well are working and no check engine light...

 

i dont know what else could be wrong so do these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? if so, any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks in advance

You HAVE to scan the truck and diagnose that code first ,

 

That is a fully electronic transmission , you have to stop guessing and sell the truck or take it to a shop...simple ,

yes, I had come to that conclusion but was hoping that i was overlooking something or there was something else I could check...Thanks for the input buddy
