anyone have opinions on the front hood bug deflector/guard. im seeing two models one chrome and one black.

anyone have pics?

I am also interested in this post. Does anyone know if there is a bug deflector that attaches to the 2014 without clips?

I have a Stampede. It installed in 5 minutes and just uses existing holes that are for the weatherstripping. You just take out the clips that will be replaced and then install it with the provided clips which are longer. No drilling and no double sided tape, just clips and it hasn't moved after having it in for almost 1 year. Being how it's installed it's reversible without knowing even knowing one was on there. It's also not too big like some are.

AVS. had it for almost a year 30,xxx miles. Looks better on different color trucks and i don't think it really dose much

I'm on my lunch break right now but I can take some price after work which I get off at 7 eastern time. I like it because it's not completely low profile so it makes me feel like it's doing something other than 3M taping to cover the front edge of the hood while also not being too bulky.

But like I said, it just uses plastic plugs and replaces some of the factory ones that are used to hold the weatherstripping on the front edge of the hood. You just take out the ones that will be replaced, then hold it up on the hood and then use the clips supplied to install the shield. I did it by myself but will be much easier and faster if you have an extra set of hands to hold it.

I forgot to mention in the 1st post that the clips are the same idea as the pop up ones that hold down the plastic fan shroud. When I put mine on, I pushed them halfway to hold them but gave it enough room to adjust. Then once it was in the middle I pushed them all the way down.

Here's a close up of 2 of the end plastic clips and another one to show how it looks up against the hood. As I said, the clips are the same idea as the ones that hold the plastic fan shroud down where you push the middle part down to secure it. I like this shield because it's just right, not too close to the hood while not being too big. Plus me having a black truck it's hard to see at a glance.

I'm very happy with mine. The only thing I was worried about was it eventually sliding one way or the other because of the use of only those clips and after 1 year there has been 0 movement. I made sure to find one that didn't require drilling or double sided tape and that's the only one that I could find that I knew for sure. There were some that I couldn't find anything to be sure one way or the other so I didn't consider it since I didn't want to pay roughly $100 for a shield and only hoping it didn't require drilling or tape.
