5.3 Spark Plugs

From what I've read on here, The majority seems to be for Champion Copper Plus. When I called to order, they had 2 listings - Champion Copper and Champion Truck Plug, no Copper Plus. What should I get? Here is a list of prices I got on variuos plugs. I'm at 69,000 and am looking to replace the stock plugs.

Autolite Platinum - $2.39

Autolite Regular - $1.19

Bosch Platinum +4 - $5.99

Bosch Platinum +2 - $3.99

Bosch Platinum - $1.98

AC Delco Platinum (told OEM replacement) - $5.18

Champion Copper - $1.58

Champion Truck Plug - $3.46

I went to Champions web site and looked at the Truck Plug. It is a gold/black plug on the outside. Is this what everyone is calling the Copper Plus? They say it is designed for the demand of truck engines. So I guess any other spark plug that isn't called "truck plug" isn't designed for truck engines even though thaey have applications for truck engines. You gotta love marketing! But, if what they say is true, the Champion Truck Plug seems like a decent plug for the $$.

The champion truck plug and copper plus plug are definitely different plugs. I just installed copper plus on my truck and like them. They are cheap (about a buck apiece). They seem to work well, and I'm going to change them every 30K miles. Not sure of the benefits of the truck plug.

Also, I had trouble getting my stock wires back on as far as they seemed to be on the denso stock plugs. They went on, but seemed to be a half or 3/4 cm further back on the champions. I held the plugs up next to each other, and while they are the same length, the part from the hexagonal "head" to the back is longer than the densos. anyone else notice this?

Can anyone else chime in on that?

Consider NGKsparkplugs. A lot better than Champion IMO.

Actually I think you have more than one right plug..... most likely four of them, and four left plugs too.

But my truck doesn't have any plugs.

BUT

If I could afford it

If I was to buy a Diesel

Id buy a Power Stroke

Time proven

No aluminum heads

Id just like to know about the spark plug recomendations

Well, I called 5 places and no one in my area carries or can get NGK plugs. They say there is no demand for them. Everyone seems to carry Bosch and AC Delco as the 2 major brands. I did find the Champion Copper Plus (2 year unlimited milage warranty) for $1.29 each. The Champion Truck Plug (3 year unlimited milage warranty) is available for $2.50 each. According to Champion's web site, the Truck Plug has 20% more copper and designed for the rigors of truck and SUV driving. I think I might try them. What do you think? I've heard bad things about Bosch and the AC Delco's are just too much money.

I'll second NGK. I dont have any experience using them in automobiles, but I know in the ATV world, NGK rules. I've tried the "other brands" and they would foul out left and right....NGK's seem to last forever even if your running your engine too rich or lean.

I've never used them on a truck before either but I think I'm gonna try a set around 70k.
