Bose radio problems

Hi all,

I have an 04' Sierra 2500HD which has had intermittent radio problems in the past. The audio would randomly not work when I started the truck and would only sometimes come back on after cycling the truck on/off. Most recently the front speakers have stopped working but rears continue to work. I checked the front speaker and both have 2-2.2 ohms each. Could this be a radio issue or amplifier issue?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Could be the fronts are shorting as the cones move. Those Bose amp, IIRC, will shut off channel(s) to protect itself when it detects impedance issues with the load(s). Could also have problems with the wiring at the door hinge flex points, it may have become intermittent from the flexing over the years. Or simply an amp failing.

Thanks for the reply. I did pull the front speakers and test them on a radio on my house...they worked. I also tried plugging in the rear speakers in the front and they only made some static noise.

I also have a 06 Silverado LT3 with Bose, steering wheel controls, and onstar. I recently was able to integrate a DDin Pyle PLDNV695 (which, despite the negative reviews, has been an good deck for the cheap price (130$)) with the rest of the stock Bose system. Deck has GPS, Bluetooth, DVD, SD and USB inputs, and more. Everything works fine, minus the few bugs everyone has been complaining about, which can easily be resolved through settings. I was also forced to add a sub due to Bose's crappy low end quality. I did all this without having to buy all the pricey harness adapters.

There are a few issues I have ran into if anyone can help.

1. Does anyone have the wiring diagram or know which wires are used for steering wheel controls?

2. I have read hundreds of forums on this subject and during all my research I have discovered that the stock Bose speakers are 2ohm while the deck pushes 4ohm. I have read the negatives on running them anyway, but it seems to sound way better than the ome deck and haven't received any complications so far (one month in).

Please share some info.

If anyone needs info on my end about bypassing the Bose amp or wiring aftermarket deck without using harness adapters I'd be happy to help.
