Recommend a dealer in North Texas

Playing with the idea of buying new instead of used. I have never bought a new vehicle before. Recommend me a dealer in the North Texas area to look at for a Silverado. We plan to put 50% down. Will this help me negotiate a lower price? Any insight appreciated.

If you say blue I might need to hunt you down. You stole the pickup I'm looking for! :M16:

Damn loaner, when mine needed some work, sucked me in to trade in my 2014 for a crew cab. Double cab was too small for my needs.

The best advice anyone can give you when buying new is to not show your cards. You NEVER let a dealership know how your paying for a vehicle until you have agreed on a price. Also, line up your own financing before even heading to the dealership. You will get a far better rate from your own bank than a dealerships. Also don't tell the dealership your goal price, go a couple thousand under it and see where that takes you. Finally, don't be afraid to walk out of the dealership either. Dealerships are a dime a dozen if one doesn't want to negotiate go to another.

Great info! I have a friend who used to sell cars over seas and told me all of the same things. Important thing is I have a running vehicle that is paid for. I plan on being very stubborn during the pricing process when the day comes.

One of my favorite lines is "Hey, I don't NEED a new vehicle, I WANT one. I have no problem walking out of here and driving to another dealership or not spending my money either." With that being said my last two vehicles I purchased (2012 GT500 & 2014 Silverado) were both out of state and negotiated through emails. I haven't found anyone local who wants to wheel or deal so I take my money where the deals are at.

Fort Worth/Arlington area. I work up near Addison though and there are a few dealers in that area as well.

I hear great reports of classic no matter which dealer. I would not visit Huffines though. heard tons of horror stories.

I would stay away from Stonebriar Chevrolet as they are terrible from the sales reps to crappy service. I purchased a 2014 Silverado from them and had multiple issues with and the service I received there was terrible. I traded my 2014 in for a 2015 Silverado and purchased it at Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, TX and they were superb!

I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new Chevy!

I've bought 3 from Classic, they're the only dealership in Dallas that is fair. Check the "What did you pay thread"...
