HELP. Footwell lighting not working.

I tapped the thicker solid grey wire in the black box located near the parking brake and it's not working. I used a wire tap (scotch lock) to connect/tap into the grey wire. I used XKGlow LED Pods and they have unique connectors on them that I cut off. One wire is solid black which I'm guessing is the ground and then a black wire with a white stripe which I'm guessing is the power/trigger wire. I used several ground locations and nothing.

When I ran lights to my foot wells I looked for the grey wire too but it didn't work. I had to tap into a wire in the drivers side A channel.

This is probably a dumb question, but the grey wire that gets tapped into, does that get connected to the power or ground wire of the LED?

Don't use the grey wire it doesnt work. Follow the instructions in that video I posted. It will go to power.

Oops doing too much stuff at once, That was for a different thread. Also sorry it is a grey wire, but the ones under the dash don't work. Use the thicker grey wire in the A channel.

Power

Ok then I have it right if I have the wires right on the LEDs. Solid black is ground. Black with white stripe is power.

Hot damn again! So I checked the voltage with a volt meter at the butt connector closest to the LED pod and then the other lead I touched several bolts underneath the dash and it showed 12.5 volts. So...it meant that the ground was the problem. HOWEVER, it wasn't the ground locations, but somewhere between the LED and the eyelet, the connection did not complete. Fixed!
