Rear block height

Hey fellas. Was gonna get the zone 4.5 for my '14 sierra sle. I got 17x9 fuel hostage wheels right now (17s because I like more tire than wheel) and 33x12.50 dick cepek mud country. Anyhow, I'm wondering about the 4" block they send with the kit. I hear horror stories about axle wrap. How big of a block can you get away with before axle wrap? I was looking at replacing the blocks with skyjacker 5" leaf packs. Which will also add some rake. Will the leaf packs prevent axle wrap?

I'm assuming you have a 5.3. Axle wrap probably won't be noticeable on only 4" blocks. It all depends on the springs, HP, and load. With my 01 stock 5.3 with a loaded car trailer behind I could feel a little axle wrap on hard acceleration. My 05 duramax (chipped) with 2 1/2" blocks unloaded never noticed it. I'd say for the ride you'll sacrifice with plain-jane over the shelf springs from almost anyone except from deaver, you should be fine. If you do want to invest in rear leaf springs order a set from a well known company that will build them for you. Deaver is a popular company that builds leaf springs the correct way.

Thanks for the input man I appreciate it. What does axle wrap feel like? This is gonna be my first build and I'm trying to consider things before they happen ya know? Yea I have the 5.3. I'd like a 6" lift but it seems like it gets too involved with regearing and tuning and such.
