Tow mirrors

Hi all, just wanted to share that my 2015 Silverado 2500hd did not come with tow mirrors or turn signals in the mirrors. I purchased an oem set and installed them (requires drilling extra hole in door for the extra mirror bolt), plugged them in and the turn signals don't work...not surprising, I did my research on this forum before I purchased and knew that would be an issue. Well, just wanted to share that I was successfully able to get them working with the turn signals. I know there is an easier way, but I ended up tapping into the western plow wiring for the left and right turn signal, and ran the respective wires into the door via the rubber boot that runs from cab to door. The mirrors have a blue and white wire as the turn signal hot, and a brown as a neutral. I hooked them all up and they operate flawlessly with the turn signals.

 

For those who are interested in tackling this project, and I know there are a lot of you out there, don't hesitate to dive into it...it's the smallest differences that often make the biggest differences. Needless to say, I'm very pleased with them. Don't hesitate to ask any questions, I will gladly help any way I can.
