Anyone painted their all terrain grille yet? If so post them up. I have a white AT and thinking of painting the chrome strips and GMC logo white.

Not the best pic, but I blacked out my GMC logo. I left the chrome accents bc I still have the molding on the windows and doors too.

How have you found it to hold up? I'm itching to do mine. Did you just mask off the chrome and then sprayed it

I did not tape off the chrome. I taped off everything around it, filed in all the holes with news paper, made sure the chrome trim pieces in the grill were covered up. Then I plasti dipped the whole logo black. Did 5 coats of black, then did 3 coats of clear. Let each coat dry 20-30 mins. After the last coat, let dry for an hour. Peel off all masking tape and remove all newspaper. Then start peeling off the edges of plasti dip. It will peel off to the edge. To be safe, I took a razor to all the edges/ creases around the logo. Then peeled everything off the chrome. That left the black letters. There is a few youtube videos of guys blacking out the GMC emblem. Very easy

It has held up very well. I also blacked out all my All Terrain Badges and the SIERRA on the tailgate. All are holding up very well. Multiple car washes so far. Live at the beach, so very sandy on the roads, and drive on beach every weekend.

I know friends who plasti dipped their wheels and they have lasted two years so far

From past experience, spending $ on getting emblems colour matched is a waste. I drive on the freeway everyday and that has always chipped the paint.

My emblems are either Plasti dipped or wrapped in vinyl bc they are cheaper to repair.

Yea I want to do mine just nervous with the plasti dip I guess and would prefer it to be more metallic finish... And I worried a bit on peeling it off the chrome or just masking it off...

There isn't anything to worry about with plasti dip. If you don't like it, you peel it off and start again. A can if black plasti dip is $8 at Lowes. And one can is enough to do all your trim pieces on your truck.

And if it starts to chip or peel in a few months, you just peel it off and redip it. You will have to buy a lot if cans of plasti dip to offset the cost of painted emblems
