Scratching my head with electric issues....

Over the weekend, I noticed my volt gauge fluctuates from 12 to 15 volts. when it does this, it seems to be fine (14ish) in the morning or when cold. It will spike up to just over 15 and hover there as well as hang around 12.5. I cant find a consistent pattern yet...Also, my mirror temp seems to be off 7-8 degrees than my '02 Sierra parked next to it. This is recent too...Along with both of those issues, My FM radio reception has faded away quite a bit. My range is now pretty weak. I went to test my alternator output, only to find my VOM missing out of my toolbox.....Anyone seen anything like this before???

Yeah, I think that's how the phenomenon that was presented in "Maximum Overdrive" was started...In all seriousness is it possible something is putting out some kind of major interference? Would a faulty voltage regulator do that?

I am leaning towards a voltage regulator, but hoping to hear this problem had surfaced before and been cured already...
