Problems with 09 Sierra

Hi,

My Sierra is acting up. It started idling high when I was going down the street at 25mph and then went back to normal. Later the same day I went to park at a store and the engine revved up to 3 on the tach.

I had the throttle body cleaned but the engine still raced high when I started it a few days later with the remote start. The next day I started it and it didn't rev up high. This evening we started it and the gas gauge started going haywire to empty then back to half a tank. We checked some fuses and now the reverse lights won't go out even when truck is shut off and they stay on all the time while driving. We pulled the fuse out for the reverse lights and they still stayed on so we had to disconnect the battery. No engine or information lights have come on. Any ideas out there? Thanks for any replies

Throttle position sensor maybe.

The throttle body cleaning caused that issue. When you move the butterfly, the idle acts up for a while. It should reset/relearn on its own after 100 miles or so. If not you may have to take it into a dealership to be flashed.

You may want to ask that question to whoever did the work to your truck.... I simply explained that the idle may get weird like that after a TB cleaning if not done properly.

You need to take the truck back to the jokers that caused you these issues and have them fix it. Seems like they did some damage to your electrical system while they were under the hood doing whatever it is you paid them to do.......
