2015Z71 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 I have a 2015 Silverado CC z71 and when I accelerate in Auto/4x4 it sounds like I'm getting some sort of friction/humming/grinding in the front end. It only happens when I accelerate more then a slow acceleration. If I have slight authority with the pedal I get the noise. When it goes back to 2wd the noise goes away. With 2050 miles on the truck I'm don't think this is normal. Any help would be appreciated.
newdude Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Don't use auto. Unless its raining or snow on the road there is zero need for auto 4x4 or 4x4hi. I would take it in though and have the dealer look at it just in case.
2015Z71 Posted September 3, 2015 Author Posted September 3, 2015 Yeah it was raining which it why I was using it.

TJay74 Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I personally don't use auto when it rains, just don't see the need. Unless there is ice/snow/slush on the ground my truck stays in 2wd.
publicalias Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Mine does the same thing and I only use when needed, but it sure is annoying when I use it. I've had it to the dealer twice and get the same answer, "it's normal...we compared to the other vehicles and they do the same...don't use it unless the road conditions are slick." I find it disappointing since my 2011 LT and my brother's past few LTZs didn't have the sound.
2015Z71 Posted September 10, 2015 Author Posted September 10, 2015 I am taking it to the dealer tomorrow. We will see what they say.
