passenger side window

Hey guys....

Passenger side window won't roll up or down. I can hear the switch clicking when I try it from both drivers and passengers but doesn't move. Replaced passengers switch, still nothing. Also sent power to the motor directly and rolls up and down.

Please advise.......thanks!

If the motor spins but nothing happens the regulator (lift mechanism) has failed.

2007.....when power is applied directly to motor, motor works perfectly up and Down.

I read somewhere that if the switch is clicking, it's doing it's job. Idk? I took apart both switches and cleaned the contacts. Drivers switch passengers toggle seemed to have the most carbine (stuff) on it.

Can the switches be tested somehow?????

If you can identify the pin out of the connector, a test is quick and simple with either an ohm meter or a voltage meter.

I put an ohm meter On the passengers side switch. I forget the values. I'm not an electrician. Is was like o.l. in the middle, then rocked the switch back and forth and the values would change.

Should I try the same on the drivers????? And is that what I'm looking for?

The switch should be open (infinite resistance) centered. And minimal resistance when operated.

Check the drivers side wiring. I suspect the window lockout function/bad drivers side master switch or a wire fault in the passenger or drivers side door.

At first the passengers switch didn't work for my passenger. I was able to raise it with the drivers switch. Bought the truck with blown speakers. Replaced all speakers, when to check the Windows to make sure they worked. And that's when I noticed it wouldn't work at all.

I've had panels off twice. Jiggled wires and played games for 4/6 hours. I want to exhaust all possibilities b4 I turn it over to the dealer.......

That's where I am going with a wiring fault. It is not uncommon for a wire to break between the door and the body.

The insulation may look fine but the conductor may break from flexing.

The wiring was moved. Now the window doesn't work.

I personally would track down a wiring diagram, identify the power window wires and start checking them for continuity.
