Multiple Electrical Issues

Hey, new to this forum. Thanks in advance for any help. I just bought a 2002 2500HD with 77k on it for a plow truck. It runs fine, starts with out issue, goes down the road with out any mechanical issue. It does have some weird electrical issues going on though.

1) Randomly the battery light will come on, on the message center, and I'll lose my fuel gauge, coolant tempt gauge, and trans tempt gauge.

2) Abs light is on and occasionally the parking brake light will come on.

3) Randomly the seat belt light will come on and the airbag light.

The service light was on, but I do not know for how long before I bought it so I pulled the codes wrote them down and cleared them to see if they come on again.

I think the electrical might be a bad ground somewhere but I'm not sure.

check the ground on the drivers side front cab mount. this was an issue with mine years ago.

also your BCM Body Control Module can screw up and reset itself ... or you can reset it by dissconnecting your battery for 30 minutes.

 

... give it time - you may be fine ...
