Modifying your truck while still under warranty!

This is why I have been so hesitant to make any changes to my truck while on warranty. I understand that if I level my truck, and it causes premature wear on suspension components, they won't be covered. However, I am more concerned with the dealer being a jerk and denying all warranty coverage.

I didn't really think of warranty until after I cut my factory fog light wiring harness and installed Rigid Fog lights. Again, I understand that if my fog light switch or fog light wiring dies, I am on the hook because I am not using Factory fogs anymore. What scares me is that after I installed them, my buddy talked to his sister who worked for years in the service department of the local GM dealer. She said that because all the wiring in the new trucks is run through the BCM, if I have electrical glitch anywhere, the service department might try to blame the fog light install as the cause... So if my 8" touch screen died, they could try to blame the fog light install.

And obviously warranty isn't going to cover new parts that replace factory ones. GM isn't going to cover my new Rigid fog lights if they die, and I don't expect them to. They also won't cover new Fox shocks if I decide to buy them since they aren't factory. That's a no brainer.

Agreed.
