Backup Camera

Afternoon folks. The picture with my backup camera is not a crisp picture. I have found where peeps add backup cameras but haven't found anything about upgrading to a higher resolution camera. Has anyone found an upgrade for the camera?

Do a search, already several threads on this but it basically boils down to no.

The OEM HMI unit takes analog signal, the resolution limits to around VGA resolution (640x480). Unless you figure out how to input digital signal like HDMI, you will not get any better resolution.

 

To me, the camera is good enough to see stuff up close, it is not for taking photos or videos (I do plan on finding the wires and use it as a rear cash cam)

Yeah mine is fine.....its just to gauge distance not take pictures
