if anyone could help me with this issue id be really appreciative as I'm pulling my hair out over it. Im working on my fathers work truck its a 2001 Silverado 4.3 2WD. here's the back story, on monday i pulled the transmission and had it rebuilt. I reinstalled it yesterday, went over the normal sequence and made sure everything was plugged in tight ect. I filled it to capacity, test drove it around block and then rechecked fluid level and filled accordingly; all seemed to be great. So i decided i wanted to take it for a little bit of a drive to test all gears ect. Well I got about 5 miles away all still good, turned around and headed back home. As soon as i got half way home my speedometer started going berzerk, ABS light came on, BRAKE light came on and truck wouldn't shift out of first gear anymore. I limped it home and scanned the system. I found two fault codes to be present for the ABS system C0236, and C0237 both for "left rear wheel speed sensor signal missing and signal erratic" so i cleared them and jumped under the truck to check things out; all seemed to be ok. So I started scratching my head because its a 2WD as far as i know the only speed sensors on this truck are the two on the front hubs and the VSS at the tailshaft of the trans. So i checked all of them and they all seemed ok, i pulled the VSS at the tails haft and cleaned it off and inspected it. It looked good and didn't see any oddities but just for the heck of it i went and bought a new one and replaced it. I jumped back into the truck and started it up, abs light pops back on right away, as soon as you put truck in drive and make it 5ft the BRAKE light pops on and speedo still does nothing. Im really pulling my hair out over this one, any help here would be greatly appreciated.

How many grounds did you have to disconnect to get the transmission in and out? Did you check every fuse?

Shot in the dark, how good is your battery/alternator?
